At OZMT (Oz Music Technologies AB), we believe the distance between a musician and their ideal sound should be zero. Too often, digital tools get in the way — a maze of amp models, pedals, microphones, and speaker cabinets that demand hours of searching rather than minutes of music. We set out to change that for the players who want both instant inspiration and the power to sculpt every detail of their tone.

Molten Core, our first product, is built on a simple conviction: a dedicated metal guitarist should be able to open a plugin, dial in their sound, and play — but also dive deep, shaping every nuance with surgical precision. No compromises. The tone you hear in your head — aggressive, defined, alive — should be immediately within reach, and every control should serve your creative intent, not get in the way.

Our guiding vision is “Musical revolution through technological evolution.” The best digital tools don't merely mimic the analog world, they understand it deeply enough to make it better. By combining decades of DSP expertise with real-world experience as musicians, our mission is to make the connection between player and instrument as immediate and expressive as possible, designing tools that become a true extension of your creative intent.

Molten Core is the first step in a broader product portfolio, one built on a deliberate advantage: traditional gear is constrained by component cost and the physics of the analog world, but in the digital domain those limits disappear. That freedom lets us go further than copying what already exists, refining tone to levels no physical amp can reach and, in time, extending it into sounds that have never existed before.

OZMT (Oz Music Technologies AB) was founded by Oscar Albinsson — a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and engineer with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.

Oscar’s career began at Blackstar Amplification, where he was a core part of the team that created the ID series — Blackstar’s first digital amplifier line. Working closely with legendary amp designer Bruce Keir, Oscar gained intimate knowledge of valve amplifier circuits, preamp and power amp behaviour, analog modulation effects, and the craft of making digital amplification feel real.

That foundation shaped everything that followed. From 2012 to 2023, Oscar worked at Elektron Music Machines. There, he designed and implemented digitally controlled analog distortion circuits for the Analog Drive and Analog Heat — dedicated saturation units that pushed the boundaries of musical tone. He also contributed to many other critically acclaimed instruments, including the Octatrack, Analog Four, Analog Rytm, Digitakt, Digitone, and Syntakt. Over eleven years, Oscar honed an advanced expertise in digital signal processing, developing synthesis, effects, filters, and the art of building tools that feel truly alive in the hands of musicians.

It is the combination of both worlds — intimate knowledge of how real amplifiers breathe and years of DSP craft at the highest level — that made Molten Core possible. Not a copy of existing gear, but something that understands the analog world deeply enough to go beyond it.

Oscar founded Oz Music Technologies AB in August 2024 and joined the Brewhouse Inkubator in Gothenburg the same year — bringing the same conviction that drove a decade of instrument-building at Elektron: that the best tools disappear in use, leaving only the music.

That conviction is the foundation of every product OZMT will build. Start with a real problem. Remove every obstacle between player and sound. Then push further — until the technology enables music that couldn't exist before.
